The US will continue to press Pakistan to take action against the terrorists who attacked Mumbai last year, new US ambassador to India
Tim Roemer said.In his first interaction with journalists after presenting credentials on Tuesday, Roemer said, “The al-Qaida, the Taliban, Lashkar-e-Taiba... we have a common enemy with India. And we are pressing Pakistan hard on the Mumbai suspects.”Roemer was a key member of the 9/11 Commission in the US Congress that investigated the World Trade Center attacks.

Story of Kasab

Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, 21, confessed last month to taking part in the three-day November siege that paralyzed India’s financial capital and killed 166 people. The court, however, ordered that the trial against him continue because his statement did not address all the charges.
On next Friday, the Pakistani said he wanted to plead guilty to all the charges, which range from murder to conspiracy to wage war against India.
Judge M.L. Tahiliyani, who heads the special court trying Kasab, asked him to discuss his plans with his lawyer before making any decisions.
Minutes later, Kasab returned to court to say he had changed his mind and his earlier confession would stand.
In his confession, Kasab admitted spraying gunfire into the crowds at Mumbai’s main train station, but denied killing four policemen, whose deaths remain touchstones of grief and anger in India.
This is not the first time Kasab has reversed himself in court. Last month, he pleaded not guilty to the 86 charges. A short while later, he unexpectedly confessed.
Kasab said Lashkar-e-Taiba, a militant group formed in the 1980s with the alleged blessing of Pakistan’s intelligence services, was behind the attack. That supported India’s charges that Pakistan is not doing enough to clamp down on terrorist groups.

Not Enough Evidence Against Pakistan

in Islamabad, foreign office spokesman Abdul Basit said the documentation provided by India is insufficient to prosecute.

He, however, said the government has its own judicial and legal system which will follow its course to bring the suspected perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks to books.

India alleges Hafiz Saaed is the mastermind of the November 2008 Mumbai attacks. Relations between India and Pakistan have been severely strained since the attacks and the composite dialogue process has come to a virtual standstill.

Four top police officials, including Mumbai Police Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare, were among the 10 policemen killed as security forces took on terrorists here in the early hours of Thursday, authorities said.

On September 29, 2008, three bombs exploded in Modasa, Gujarat and Malegaon, Maharashtra killing eight persons, and injuring 80. Several unexploded bombs were found in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Hemant Karkare, as the chief of the state Anti-Terror Squad, led the investigation into the 2008 Malegoan blasts. In late October the ATS arrested eleven suspects, and alleged that some radical Hindu groups were behind the blasts.

Opposition parties, including the Bharatiya Janta Party and Shiv Sena, and Hindu organizations alleged that the arrests were made under the pressure of the incumbent government, in an attempt to appease India’s Muslim population.Some BJP, RSS and VHP leaders accused the ATS of being used as a tool to attack the Sangh Parivar and of using illegal detention and torture.

I have seen in past few days that Mamta Banerjee is proactively advocating Maoist activity. Already Maoist activity has killed several people in West Bengal including doctor, farmer and school teacher.

I have also seen that social activist like Medha Patekar , Anuradha Talowar also supporting their movements. It’s shameful for our Government that they can’t control this activity and common people are dying.

I am a strong believer of human rights , I think most of the people in this world believe this. But with my all respect to the common people of USA, sometime I believe that Federal Government has an unique way to protect human rights. They have attacked Irak, I thought that President Bush is an great protector of Human Rights and to save the common people of Irak. They killed children and raped womans , show all the brutality , perhapses that is for Human Rights. They have set military camp at Diago Garcia Rights.

Now they are threating China although, President Bush expressed his “deep concerns” over China’s record on human rights and religious freedom in a speech today — the same day he travels to Beijing for the Olympic Games.

“The people of China deserve the fundamental liberty that is the natural right of all human beings,” Bush said in Bangkok. “America stands in firm opposition to China’s detention of political dissidents, human rights advocates and religious activists.”

Before the speech, Bush had said he was reluctant to mix politics with the Olympics, saying he wanted to show respect for his Chinese hosts and to simply enjoy the Games as a sports fan. He repeatedly said he “didn’t need the Olympics” to speak candidly in private to China’s leaders about his human rights concerns.

Common people of India are very much religious and because of this all the famous temples are very good place of business, if you admit or not one section of people are making huge amount of money from various religious spot of India. As for example, only Tirumala Venkateswara temple had 7 billion rupees official Income in 2004. So just imagine the volume of economy at various spiritual places.

The recent incident shows that the callousness of Govt , not to utilize the money for safety and security of people. If you look at the Temples of India , you will see for most of them :
1. Not hygienic
2. Not safe and comfortable
3. Creating pollution
4. Trusty and Gurus are looting money in the name of God
5. No certification mechanism from Govt
6. very much corrupted

When I was student, I have read some article about $100 laptop , the caption was “Laptop for Each Child” . Sometime back Intel has withdrawn support from the project. The cheapest laptop that the project was able to produce is $188 . Recently Indian guys break all the records, India is all set to introduce world’s cheapest laptop after proposed Now, $10 Laptop For Pupils!cheapest car nano by TATA. The new laptop will cost around $10 only. It will be 10 times cheapest than already present cheapest laptop in the market. Massachusetts-based non-government organization is selling laptop for $188 at present which is considered as the cheapest laptop in the market. It is aimed toward spreading technical education in India.

Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandeswari has confirmed that research work is being done at technology institutes to fulfill this dream project. It will be useful for students for educational activities. The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras are working on trail version of the cheapest laptop. OLPC laptop for $50 price tag is also expected to come in the market by 2010. Earlier in the year, the Indian government has rejected the plan of providing OLPC laptops to students as it found this laptop expensive and experimental.

The HRD minister expressed hope that the upcoming laptop will help in computer education and e-learning in India and the world as well. The government is also planning to provide free educational bandwidth for spreading online education in rural India.

Lok Sabha Speaker Mr Somnath Chatterjee, who was expelled by the CPI-M for refusing to quit his post despite the party directive, has expressed his desire to quit politics and do charitable work, former CPI-M MP Mr Saifuddin Chowdhury claimed.

“I will quit politics and do charitable work,” Mr Chatterjee, who was visibly hurt by the CPI-M’s decision, was quoted by Mr Chowdhury today. The former MP had met the Speaker at the latter’s residence during the day.

The naked protest Monday by a group of nearly 20 boys between four and eight years of age in Imphal East reminded the locals of the naked protest by a group of elderly women in Imphal in 2004 to protest the custodial death of 24-year-old girl Manorama Devi.

We know that some people are playing separatist’s role at Imphal , but using children to do this kind of activity is shameful and punishable . I believe this is a shameful day for People of Imphal . Abuse of children should be punished by law.

During last few years Tiger project of India and Nepal are not doing very well. But here is a good news for all the tigers in India , that NOKIA joins his hand with WWF in some tiger project initiative .

Under this initiative, Nokia and WWF-India, will work jointly towards providing education for sustainable growth, increasing knowledge on tiger conservation in the villages surrounding tiger reserves.

Mr. D. Shivakumar, Vice President and Managing Director, Nokia India, said, “The tiger population in India has seen an alarming decrease due to shrinking forest cover, and increased poaching. We have joined hands to spread awareness about this important cause.”

Moreover, the combined scheme would also discover alternative livelihood programmes for villagers residing around National Parks, particularly the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan, which is well-known for its tigers.

Nokia would work with WWF with the intention to fortify sustainable and alternative livelihood programmes, to connect them with subsisting initiatives of other line departments of the Government of Rajasthan.
